Fireworks, Unlimited Ice Cream, Patriotic Hats, and much more...

The 4th of July fun didn't end with our backyard barbecue.  In fact, the festivities were just beginning for our party crew....
VABeau's company rented out the Women in Military Service for America Memorial for a 4th of July party for employees and their families and friends.  They provided sangria, beer, and wine as well as the perfect 4th meal of sliders and hot dogs.

Best of all, they provided a perfect

and uninterrupted view of the DC fireworks show over the Lincoln Memorial.
After feasting on the delicious food we took a moment to explore the beautiful monument which is located in Arlington Cemetery.
I really can't imagine a more appropriate spot to spend the 4th of July.

As the sun set the monument was illuminated by gorgeous red, white, and blue lights.
They looked even more impressive when reflected in the pool below.

My view moments before the incredible fireworks show.  Definitely the best seat I've had for it in all 6 years that I have watched the DC fireworks.
After the fireworks we moved back inside for popcorn and cotton candy.  And the men used that opportunity to read up on the monument, apparently.
VABeau and his brother show off their ridiculously patriotic hats purchased in the memorials gift shop earlier in the evening.
Charlie and Gale joined in on the fun too and left the event with patriotic hats as well.
We also hit up the unlimited ice cream carts(quite possibly my favorite part of the event!) and the bars one final time before leaving this incredible site.
One final look of the perfect 4th of July fireworks location and party on our way to the metro.

This event made our 4th of July quite possibly the most memorable one for me.  The party was incredibly well run and made seeing the fireworks, on one of the busiest nights in DC, completely painless.  Everything from the food and sangria to the cotton candy and popcorn favors were perfection.  I can't imagine a more perfect place to spend the 4th and I only hope this becomes a regular event.  If it does, I can guarantee we will be there each and every year!

  1. Looks like so much fun! I've only been to the fireworks in DC one time and they were amazing. I cannot wait to go back. You're right; DC is the perfect spot to spend the Fourth.

  2. That's so neat. I actually never was in town when they had the fireworks. For the three years I lived there, we always went back to pa for the fourth.
