Menu Monday

Monday
*Ragin Cajun Casserole
This meal is a classic in our home and it always tends to make a reappearance around Mardi Gras.  The recipe is from Southern Living so you know you can't go wrong.

Wednesday
Drinks with the girls for me and happy hour in DC for VABeau.  I met my friends at Willow in Arlington and have decided that we should meet at this spot every month after Wednesday night.  The service was phenomenal and the small bites and flat bread were delicious.
This is one of those Cooking Light recipes that I can hardly believe is "light."  But it's so easy to make, incredibly delicious, and so comforting, that I'm willing to believe it.

Friday was my Birthday so I was treated to an amazing home cooked meal a la VABeau after work.  Absolutely nothing about this meal was healthy about, but Birthdays were made for splurging.

Saturday
2941 Restaurant was my official Birthday dinner spot and it was AMAZING.

  1. Happy Birthday...that dinner the Beau made you looks incredible! My best friend lives right near Willow and I love eating there when I visit!

I'm a newlywed, labor and delivery nurse, food lover, self-proclaimed wine-o, and shopping addict. I was raised in southern VA, went to school in central VA(Go Hoos!), and currently live in northern VA with my adorable husband. I consider myself to be a true Virginian, hence the blog title. I plan to chronicle our adventures as newlyweds in the DC area while sharing some of my favorite things.
